For The Love of God

John 11:1-16

1. Love is a wonderful thing.

• Martha and Mary knew that Jesus loved Lazarus. John 11:3
• Jesus love is confirmed in verse four.
• Love is extravagant and heedless of self. John 11:2

2. God’s Glory

• This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” 11:4
• For God to be glorified normally a death must occur.
• The death of a dream, sometimes opens wonderful new vistas.

3. God’s timing.

• Lazarus is dead; surely Jesus has left it too late.
• God has reasons for many things that we wish were different. John 11:15
• Let us trust in the God who has reasons for the things that He does and the things that He allows.
