Expectation

Isaiah 52:8 Ephesians 5:8-14 Luke 2:21-40

1. From darkness to light.

• Live as children of the light, turn back from the shadows. Ephesians 5:8
• Bring light into dark places. Ephesians 5:11
• Christ will shine upon his people. Ephesians 5:14

2. Simeon waits expectantly.

• God promised him that he would see the Christ. Luke 2:26
• The Spirit of God made sure that Simeon’s expectation was not in vain. Luke 2:27
• Simeon recognized by faith what was to be revealed in the coming years.

3. An old woman living in the present.

• Anna, fasted, prayed and worshiped as she anticipated the coming of the redeemer. Luke 2:37-38
• Anna gave thanks for the coming of the Christ Child. 2:38
• Are you living in expectation of Christ’s return?
