Proclamation

Isaiah 9:2-5, Luke 4:18-19

1. The joy of the Lord.

• The Lord has increased our joy. Isaiah 9:3
• We rejoice before the Lord as when the harvest is completed. Isaiah 9:3
• We rejoice as when at great physical risk we not only survive but we prosper. Isaiah 9:3

2. Jesus proclaimed.

• That the Spirit of the Lord was upon him for a purpose. Luke 4:18
• That he was equipped and prepared to preach. Luke 4:18

3. Jesus’ message.

• His message was good news to the poor. Luke 4:18
• His message was freedom to the captive, sight to the blind, and release to the oppressed. Luke 4:18
• His message was that the year of the Lord’s favor had come. Luke 4:19
