Isaiah 9:2
John 1:1-14

1. A Light in dark places.

• The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2
• It is easy to get lost in dark places.
• With the light comes hope.

2. A prophecy fulfilled.

• In the first five verses of John’s gospel we are told that Jesus is our creator and our light, and that he is not understood by the world.
• John the Baptist was sent by God to help people believe in Jesus. John 1:7

3. John proclaims Jesus the light of the world.

• Jesus is the true light that gives light to every man. John 1:9
• God became flesh in Jesus and dwelt among us. John 1:14
• To all who believed in him and received him he gave the right to become children of God! John 1:12
