We Promise

Nehemiah 9:38 to 10:39

1. In View of all this…

• Because You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. 9:17
• In all that has happened to us, You have been just You have acted faithfully, while we did wrong. 9:33
• We are in great distress. 9:37

2. The people renew the promise of their fathers.

• All the people joined together behind the same vision.
• The people bind themselves to follow the Law of God given through Moses the servant of God and to obey carefully all the commands, regulations and decrees of the Lord their God. 10:29
• The people commit to make choices that keep their faith pure. 10:30

3. We will not neglect the house of our God. 10:39

• In verses 32 to 39 the people make a pledge that they will not neglect the house of their God.
• They will give of their money. 10:32
• The people promise to join together to do practical work to provide for the welfare of the house of God. 10:34
• The giving involves every area of their lives.
