Singing God’s Praises

Nehemiah 12:27-47

But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Paslm.22:3 KJV

1. The people used their gifts and callings.

• The Levites were sought out to help with the dedication. 12:27
• Singers also were brought to utilize their gifts. 12:28
• We are called to use our gifts to honor God.

2. Two choirs surround the city with praise.

• The people were purified as were the gates and walls. 12:30
• In hard times, we are called to offer a sacrifice of praise. 12:43
• All the peoples rejoiced, they were free and unrestrained so that the sound of their rejoicing could be heard far away. 12:43
• Leaders were paid for their labors. 12:44-47

3. God gave the people great joy! Nehemiah 12:43

• Joy came as the people followed God’s will.
