I Corinthians 5:1-13

1. God has given us standards to uphold.

  • It matters what behaviors we allow in the church.
    Boasting of your standing with Christ a lie if you are living a sinful lifestyle. I Cor. 5:6
  • We are called to live lives shaped by sincerity & truth. 5:8

2. Judgments.

  • We are called to make judgments about Christians. 5:12
  • We are not called to make judgments about those who do not follow Christ. 5:12
  • God will be the judge of those outside Christ. I Cor. 5:13

3. In The world not of the world.

  • We are called to live in the world not being afraid to spend time with people who do not have Christian outlooks and values. I Cor. 5:9-10

• We are called to hold to Biblical standards concerning faith and practice within the Church. I Cor. 5:11
