A History Lesson

I Corinthians 10:1-13

1. All were blessed but only some responded.

• All of their forefathers were blessed with God’s provision. I Cor. 10:1-4
• Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; 10:5
• Their bodies were scattered over the desert. I Cor. 10:5

2. Warnings.

• Don’t set your hearts on evil. I Cor. 10:6
• Some of them were idolaters. I Cor. 10:7
• Some of them committed sexual immorality, some tested the Lord, and some of them… grumbled. I Cor. 10:8-10

3. Learn for history or repeat it.

• The fulfillment of the ages has come to us. I Cor. 10:11
• Be careful even those who appear to be standing firm can fall. I Cor. 10:12
• God has promised to make a way for us to resist temptation so that we might stand. I Cor. 10:13
