The Body of Christ
January 10th, 2010I Corinthians 12:12-31
1. We are all one in Christ.
- The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. I Cor. 12:12
- Christ’s body needs all of its parts to function if it is to be at its best.
- Although there are many parts to the body of Christ, there is still just the one body. I Cor. 12:20
2. Love one another
- There should be no division in the body. I Cor. 12:25
- If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. I Cor. 12:26
3. God has appointed. I Cor. 12:28
- Apostles, prophets, teachers and workers of miracles. 12:28
- Those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 12:28
- We are all different, but we should all desire the greater gifts! I Cor. 29-31
