The Greatest Is Love

January 17th, 2010

I Corinthians 13:1-13

1. Without Love.

  • Impressive gifts are like clanging cymbals. 13:1
  • Knowing the future, and understanding the present, even a faith that can move mountains is worthless. 13:2
  • Sacrificing your very life is useless to gain anything. 13:3

2. Love is, love is not, love does not. I Corinthians 13:4-7

  • Love is: patient, kind, it rejoices with the truth, always protects, always trusts always hopes and always perseveres.
  • Love is not: proud, rude, self-seeking, or easily angered.
  • Love does not: keep a record of wrongs or delight in evil.

3. Faith, Hope and Love.

  • Love never fails. 13:8
  • Faith, hope and love remain. 13:13
  • But the greatest of these is love. 13:13
