The Call To Give

I Corinthians 16:1-4

1. We are called to care for our brothers and sisters.

• Paul was responding to a question about giving. 16:1
• Paul called on more than one church to give. 16:1
• We are called to give to those in need.

2. How to give.

• Set aside what you are to give at the beginning of the week, do not wait to see what you have left over. 16:2
• Each one should give according to his/her means. 16:2
• Paul does not want to have to make a big plea for money when he arrives. 16:2

3. A personal touch.

• Paul planned to send men approved by the Corinthian Church with their gift to Jerusalem. 16:3
• It is satisfying to have a personal connection to those we support.
• In God’s economy every gift is important, not just the big ones.
