Jonah 4:1-11

1. A Compassionate God.

  • When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion… Jonah 3:10
  • I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Jonah 4:2

2. Jonah; the spoiled brat.

  • Jonah excused his failure, by blaming it on God. Jonah 3:2
  • Jonah valued a vine more than the 120 thousand people who lived in Nineveh. Jonah 4:10-11
  • Jonah judged everything by how he felt it affected him.

3. God is the important one.

  • If we put ourselves first in life our priorities will be wrong.
  • If we serve God, if we trust him even when we don’t understand we will have peace.
  • Jesus answered: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind;; and , ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
